Keeshond on Board!

A Fisherman and His Buddy

A Keeshond Angles a Kiss from a Finnish Angler

Here is a group of photos from a Finnish Facebook friend who has keeshonden, like our Lola and Apache.

Apache just got a new yellow life-jacket and is learning to swim in the pool!

We haven’t found one that fits Lola properly yet.

Since Keeshonden are commonly known as Dutch barge dogs, it seems natural that they might take to fishermen, to boats, and to the sea.  But I think kissing, sleeping, and eating are some of their favorite things (all of which you can see in these photos).

Bluebirds Sighted!

Bluebirds sighted near Hidden Meadow Inn (Photo by Rhea Wisniewski)

Our neighbors (the Baxters, who have the four horses next to the hidden meadow) have been seeing a pair of bluebirds this summer, giving us hope that if we put up bluebird boxes we may encourage the establishment of a bluebird family nesting right on our estate.  Exciting prospect!

Teen Guests Love the Pool & the Horses

We enjoyed hosting a mother and daughter from Delhi, NY, today.  We were joined by two teenage boys from church.  Weather was perfect for swimming in the pool.  Later on another couple arrived with their daughter from Valley Stream, Long Island, NY for their second visit.    Both girls were close in age, and one works on a horse farm.  We went to Baxters to visit the horses, and enjoyed playing with the dogs, too.  Took a few photos.  Here’s one of Shammy:
