On Dark Island, Chippewa Bay, NY in the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River.

A contemporary of George Boldt, Frederick G. Bourne of New York City had this castle built as a ‘hunting’ retreat for his family. Italian stonecutters cut granite to shape this 3-story, 28-room castle with a 5-story clock tower and elaborate boathouse.

Honeymooners often rent rooms at the Castle for the ultimate romantic experience.
