Northern Exposure Pony Club accepting new members from Franklin and St Lawrence County. Anyone age 5-25 who is looking for fun and friendship is welcome to join. Our club is part of the Western New York Region of the United States Pony Clubs (USPC). We complete at WNY regional rallies, Ottawa Valley PC events, as well as local events and shows. Instruction at mounted meetings with ARIA certified instructors. Emily McKernan, DC, a graduate ‘H-A’ (part of the highest national ranking within USPC) and a nationally certified Level II Eventing instructor through the American Riding Instructors Association with over 20 years experience in horseback riding instruction.
Summer Horsemanship Camp. The Pony Place offers a summer horsemanship camp for English riders ages 4-14. Week long sessions start June 30 and run from 1pm to 4pm only. Students will receive a daily horse management lesson as well as mounted instruction. Well trained and suitable mounts.
There is much more to horses than just knowing how to ride! English riding and horsemanship skills taught in a three-hour daily course. Emphasizing overall horse care, not just knowing how to sit pretty on a horse. Dressage, Jumping and Cross-country riding.

United States Pony Club Riding Center!
Part of the Western New York Region, our members compete in regional competitions. We provide mounted and unmounted lesson opportunities. We currently have 17 members, and an Adult Horsemasters club coming soon!
HDA’s head instructor, Emily Cambridge Carrier, was awarded Top 50 Riding Instructor in the Country, as well as 2007 Instructor of the Year – Circle of Honor Status.
Owned and operated by the Cambridge family, HDA is a full-service boarding and training facility situated on 200 acres in Northern New York. We have a large assortment of lesson and competition horses ranging from Shetland ponies to drafts. Our interests include eventing, hunters/jumpers, dressage, western, side-saddle and driving. We are able to accommodate various skill levels, abilities, interests and disciplines. We encourage our customers to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, responsible individuals and team players.
At HDA, students gain:
– a solid foundation in the basics of riding that are essential for having a safe and enjoyable time horseback.
– an understanding of the nature of the horse and how to work with the horse to accomplish riding goals.
– how to safely care for the horse, both mounted and unmounted.
