Put Apache in harness for the first time, took him around the trail system and into the neighbor’s field between us and the river. Discovered a new trail with him! He likes to be wherever we are. Our friend Bill “Fitz” calls Apache “Fluffernutter” because he’s fluffy and nutty!

Bad storm last night split a boxelder tree in the front yard and took out a black walnut in front of the side garden. Bent over another tree on the garden trail.

Took guest family to see Boss, Ike & Shammy. Fed them apples and carrots. They enjoyed the pool (the people, not the horses). Deer are appearing just east of the side garden. While sitting on the new porch swing, saw a spotted fawn trotting down the driveway, looking for its parents who were braying behind some trees, on our trail system. Suddenly he took off in their direction, flicking his little white tail.
